First aid and eye wash station

First aid stations are special boxes containing bandages, ointments, and other supplies for wounds. Eyewash stations are designed to flush our eyes in case something harmful gets in them, such as chemicals or dust. Those stations are also critical at work, because any one of us could be faced with a situation where an injury might occur and we have to be to address it swiftly. Having first aid and eye wash stations within reach makes it less likely that we sustain serious injuries and damages to our eyes.

How to properly use an eye wash station in case of emergency

When something gets in your eyes that shouldn't, say dirt or chemicals, you'll want to use the eye wash station ASAP. First, pull down your lower eyelid and hold it open. If the fluid is in your eye, turn on the eye wash station and hold your eye open while the water runs into it for at least 15 minutes. Keep your head bent down, so that the water does not run into the other eye. This helps rinse out anything that could be in your eye and minimize further damage.
